Cell Phone - 3.3.2009

How many times a day are we telling the kids about being more responsible about taking care of their things? They seem to be so careless, with no worries about anything. It's as if they think hey no big deal, mom will just get me a new one of whatever I lost. This week alone Samantha and Anthony lost their jackets at school. Of course it's not the hand me down jacket, it's the new one I bought from JC Penney because I wanted my only boy to have a cool skater jacket he wanted. I have been working lately and it's been hard keeping track of everything.

Between getting all the kids ready, dinner, dishes, etc. I have been a little scattered to say the least. Lets not even get into laundry. Okay lets. Well I come home in my painters clothes and change. Some nights I throw in a fast load of laundry. As it turned out I couldn't find my cell phone. Kids have you seen my phone? No mom. Hey Ashley call my phone, lets see if we can hear it. Maybe it's in the car. No. Maybe I left it in my pants. Oh no, I threw my pants in the wash! Yep that's where it is. I washed my cell phone!! Everyone but me thought it was quite funny. I still can't believe I did that.

The thing that upsets me the most is all my memories I lost on the phone. I had videos and pictures of the kids on there. Isn't it just like God to use everything  we do even the careless things to teach us something? I realized even I can be careless and not be responsible with my things. We all make mistakes and need to show grace to each other as God does to us. So I am out a cell phone. I'll live.

Dear Lord, Thank you for using the smallest details of our life for your purpose. Help me to both display and teach Godly character. AMEN

"For the Lord  God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11
